The Outside School Hours Care Program (OSHC) program aims to provide a safe place for children to play in an environment that encourages their development, social interaction and sense of fun.
Before Care includes breakfast and there is an emphasis on quiet activities, such as reading, board games and art/craft projects.
After Care includes a healthy afternoon snack and provides an opportunity for children to engage in free play or participate in a variety of directed activities. These may include circus skills training, soccer, knitting, and animation. There is a quiet area set aside for reading or completing homework.
The program operates on school grounds in the newly built multipurpose learning centre. A School Council OSHC sub-committee ensures that it is running effectively and meets standards and regulations.
The program is not-for-profit and funded through the payment of fees. All children must be enrolled in the program before receiving care and to be eligible for Child Care Benefits.
The OSHC program offers care before school between 7:30 – 8:45 am (Before Care) and after school between 3:30-6:00 pm (After Care) on each school day. The program employs people from a range of backgrounds that bring with them diversity in experience, skills and interests.
